A New Day

For the last 4 years, really 12 years I have had this tension in my shoulders. It started with the election of #44, through both terms. Then, this country elected the next administration and the stress of witnessing what seemed like hourly chaos made my shoulders rise to the point of them touching me ear lobes.

January 20, 2021 happened and President -Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris were sworn into office and we officially dropped the ‘elect’. The inauguration was lovely – every aspect. Equally as important, I felt as if my shoulders dropped to their ‘normal’ position. The stress of walking around thinking ‘what next?’ seemed to melt away.

I am not naïve, and I know there is a lot of work to do. But just for a moment, I’m going to be still, enjoy my bourbon neat and breathe deeply.

Cheers,
