The Mommy, Dearest
My love of coffee and bourbon is well documented. So when I came across the combo with maple syrup in the Maple Dearest, I knew I had to try it. Think Irish coffee with the added touch of maple syrup. It’s good but I don’t put sugar in my coffee, so this was just over the line of too sweet.
I liked the flavors and I love to tinker with recipes. I played around with the amount of maple syrup, reducing it and then drizzling it over the top. Still a bit much; however when I eliminated the sugar, the maple syrup rounded out the bourbon nicely and The Mommy, Dearest was born!. The Mommy, Dearest is like a warm bathrobe – so relaxing you don’t know if you want to snuggle deeper into it or take a nap because you are so relaxed.
