Frisky Latte
I’m prepping for St. Patrick’s Day and deciding what whiskey I’m going to try. Last year’s pick, Knappogue Castle 12 Single Malt Irish Whiskey, was a winner and set the bar high. So, I decided to revisit this one while I decide on 2022’s pick. Still delicious, still peaty and still an enjoyable pour neat.
I tried it in a cocktail and oh boy. This is trouble, with a capital T. My love of coffee is well documented on this site. I decided to marry the two and voila, the Frisky Latte was born.
Sometimes, cocktails that come easily to my mind, taste like it – a single note. No depth. This Brown Girls is anything but. I used brown sugar syrup and oat milk. The combo is a nuttiness that pairs exquisitely with the whiskey. I felt like a barista. Full disclosure, I didn’t buy the milk frother, it was a gift. And while I wanted one, I just didn’t think I would use it and it would be yet another kitchen gadget in my drawer of kitchen gadgets. But oh was I wrong, this drink, with the foam on top mean I will be using this a lot. If you don’t have one, you don’t need it for the drink. But I promise you, you’ll thank me later if you decide to buy one.
Back to the drink!!! This was so good that I had two; though the second one had less alcohol because I had stuff to do on a Saturday. 😉
This is also great as an ice coffee!
Cheers,
