The Bee Keeper
Let us start with the captivating name of this cocktail. It instantly, brought me to thoughts of buzzing bees and the role of the Beekeeper. Seriously, this job is about more than just do not get stung. Basically, a Beekeeper helps the bees take care of themselves. The best beekeepers take the initiative to learn as much as they can about their bees to manage them with care. I suppose that a Beekeeper is just like a good friend you have known for years.
This concoction included Rye whiskey, blueberry honey reduction, lemon, and aquafaba. Do you know what aquafaba is? I sure did not. Who knew it was a vegan egg replacement made with chickpeas? Do not worry you will not taste a single chickpea in this drink. When Kimberly selected this drink, I was curious, and excited to try something new. I have never had a drink with these ingredients combined. When the waiter approached us with the drink my first thought was drink is easy on the eyes. Then at first taste the sweetness of the blueberry made me want to keep sipping, then the tanginess of the lemon added to the spicy finish of the rye whiskey had me. I wanted more. These ingredients combined made for a tasty drink.
The Bee Keeper! What a fitting name for our drink selection on that night and a delicious accompaniment to a self-care dinner with a friend. The night was dedicated time to catch up on all things Kimberly. Like most time well spent with a good friend we can count on the conversation to be sweet, spicy with a lemon squeeze at the end. Oh! And delicious food.
