French Kiss
Ohh la la, but I do love to French Kiss, <insert cough> I mean I do love a French Kiss. 😉
This tasty little treat is sweeter than my typical cocktail, JMichele would love it; but it is good. It’s made with bourbon, lemon, yellow chartreuse, grenadine and Peychaud’s Bitters.
Yellow chartreuse – is milder than green chartreuse and the cardamom and cinnamon are forward in the mouth. I dig it. I’m not sure I’d buy a bottle; but would consider it if I had a couple of drinks in my playbook of easy to make, on the fly cocktails. Hmmm. Why did yellow chartreuse Old Fashioned pop in my head…stay tuned.
Since I was intrigued by the yellow chartreuse I asked the bartender how much was in the cocktail – I figured out the proportions of the remaining ingredients. Of course, adjust to your taste; but here you go: 1.5 ounces of bourbon, .25 ounces of grenadine, .25 ounces of chartreuse, .25 ounces of lemon juice and three dashes of bitters. Add to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Double strain and pour in a low ball – tasty.
Enjoy!
