Paloma Julep
Cinco de Mayo was on Friday and unfortunately, I had a meeting and couldn’t enjoy it. Then I woke up for the coronation at 4:30 am, a day of chauffeuring the young prince around and then the Kentucky Derby. This Brown Girl is tired!
I kept thinking about riffing on my favorite non bourbon drink – a Paloma and decided to add some bourbon and mint to it. I have a bunch of pink grapefruits on hand, I eat them like oranges. My dear neighbor gave me fresh mint. That is a hardy plant. I always have bourbon and I randomly had some tequila. This ‘recipe’ and I use the term loosely is to taste. I made grapefruit juice, added a .05 ounce of tequila and an ounce of bourbon. I muddled that with a lot of mint and splashes of simple syrup. Garnish with mint and grapefruit.
