That’s My Jam… or Preserve

apricot preserves2.jpg

When I want to add a special something to a cocktail, I add a tsp of preserves. Berries seem to pair nicely with bourbon. I had a few friends over to socially distance and connect and wanted to make a girlfriends cocktail.

My pantry and fridge were bleak; but I did have an unopened jar of apricot preserves. I added a tsp per person, some crushed ice and about 6 oz of bourbon to a shaker. Voila – a smooth cocktail that was a hit. My girls couldn’t discern what was in their drink, but they loved it. The preserves rounded out the bourbon, took some of the bite out of the drink and was perfect for those that don’t drink their bourbon neat.

Try it, you’ll love it.
