Whistle Pig 10 Small Batch Rye

My rye journey continues. This is a new pour for me, and WHOA!

At 10 years old, this is far spicier than the Piggy Back and has a much longer finish – more on that in bit. The color is a warm amber, warmer than honey. Almost as if it was toasted. It looked great in the glass. I like the way it looks.

The Sip: I started neat and figured I’d add ice after a couple of sips. I picked up vanilla and maybe caramel on the nose; though I always pick up vanilla on the nose when I taste something new. I also picked up on something warmer, maybe a baking spice? It has a good mouth feel.

Let me get back to the spice, it is forward in the sip and has a long finish. The spice stays at from the first sip and lingers after the last.

I can’t to make some cocktails with this one and to drink more of this neat.

Run, don’t walk, to get this bottle.

Cheers,
