The Old Duke

Hey Brown Girls! It’s been a minute; but it’s that time of my annual conference for work. This time I’m in Arizona and I love it here. The conference was good but the sightseeing was beautiful – the Grand Canyon, the Red Rocks, riding ATVs in the dessert with my son – simply spectacular.

 While out there, I tried some new things like cactus fries, rattlesnake sausage and bison skewers. When in Rome… Truly, it was delicious. We went to a restaurant named Cowboy Club for these treats and I tried the Old Duke cocktail. Made with prickly pear cactus (which is very common here) infused bitters, bourbon and an orange twist, it’s sweet and unlike anything I can think of to compare it to. I’m a fan.
