Moroccan Whiskey

Morocco has a unique relationship with alcohol due to its predominantly Muslim population. Islam prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages, and Morocco is no exception. While it is not illegal for non-Muslims to consume alcohol in Morocco, it is regulated and restricted. But the land of spice, sand, and endless sunshine, there's a beverage that reigns supreme. It's a delicious beverage that will make your taste buds dance, like a tassel on a fez in the middle of the Souk. I'm talking about Moroccan Mint Tea. Often referred to as "Moroccan whiskey" or the "Bourbon of the country." Morocco mint tea is a beloved tradition that reflects the country's rich history and warm hospitality.

Moroccan mint tea is traditionally made with Chinese gunpowder green tea, fresh mint leaves, sugar, and hot water. It is a cherished part of Moroccan culture, and a symbol of the nation's warmth and hospitality. The preparation process is as important as the tea itself, emphasizing patience and care.

Just like a glass of bourbon with my good friends, a cup of Moroccan Mint Tea brings people together. Bourbon brings a warming, fiery character (like me) to your taste buds. Moroccan Mint Tea offers a similar kick but with a twist. The minty freshness combined with the caffeine in green tea is like a friendly tap on the shoulder that says, "Hey, let's have some fun!" It's a sweet, minty dance party in a teacup, and everyone's invited!
