Lady Soul

Hey Brown Girls, it’s been a minute since I checked in. I’m in St. Louis. It’s my first time and I have to say I’ve been looking forward to the trip. I don’t necessarily have an affinity for St. Louis; but I did research some eating spots and at the top of my list
– Salt + Smoke.

Can we spend a moment and look at those beautiful ribs?!!!

I love ribs. Salt + Smoke ribs convinced me that I have never, ever, had ribs done well before. Let me say it one more time for the people in the back – those ribs were so tender I almost cried.  They had me humming and swaying in my seat good.

Now in addition to my delicious meal; I had their Lady Soul cocktail. It was quite tasty and a great compliment to the ribs. The drink was a peach sweet tea base with Jim Beam and some other goodness. It was sweet; but not overly so and the peach flavor and bourbon didn’t overpower the cocktail. They worked well together. I’m not sure I can replicate this – well I can’t, but Kimberly Elise might be able to. I’m afraid I’ll always think about those ribs and the drink won’t be the same without them. ☹
