Bourbon Milk?

I was in NOLA recently, strolling Bourbon Street and stumbled upon @BourbonHouse. #Whoa Who knew? Was this the Mecca of Bourbon? I was excited.

Admittedly it has been a while since I've been to the Big Easy. And I believe that last time I was there I hadn't entered my bourbon season of adult beverages.

Upon entering I am faced with a display case that will make a bourbon drinker weep. It was easily 2.5 times taller than me and as least 5 times wide (calculations based on my imaginary width ;-) don't judge).

When you search @BourbonHouse bourbon milk always appears in the results. I've never heard of bourbon milk. Didn't know it was a thing.

I knew I had to try it. And so I did. In a word - yummy. It has the consistency of egg nog, though not as thick. It is rich and creamy. It is a meal unto itself and I'm not talking caloric content, though I'm sure that is high. It is jut that filling.

The drink is smooth and deceiving. Think adult milkshake made with really good bourbon. Thank goodness I'm not lactose intolerant!

I can't wait for cooler temps when I can try to make this at home.
