Tip of the Hat and a Head Nod

The election is over. Finally.

He who shall not be named LOST – by a whole lot. I mean it was BIGLY.

Once the election was finally called, I started day drinking. My Mother joined me in a toast.

In honor of our newly elected 46 President, Joe Biden, my Tip of the Hat is an Old Fashioned. It is a classic, like Joe Biden. You know what you’re going to get. Sometimes you want more, sometimes less; but you always know what you are getting with an Old Fashioned.

For our newly elected Veep, I knew I wanted to create something and the Head Nod, also known as, The Kamala was born. If you went to an HBCU, have close family that went to an HBCU, you know the Head Nod. HU…YOU KNOW! A bourbon and chai tea cocktail that I am naming – ‘The Kamala.’

When I tell you this little cocktail is amazing, I. MEAN. AMAZING!! It totally lives up to its namesake. I used Uncle Nearest, because that felt right for this moment in time.

I started out in martini glass; but really this drink demands a Nick & Nora. The chai tea and bourbon pair really well together and when you add a touch of sweetness to the really strong tea, you get a wonderful subtle drink that is perfect for day drinking.
