Stitzel Weller Distillery
Our first stop on our bourbon tour was to Stitzel-Weller Distillery where we did a walking tour and tasting. Our tour guide was everything – she brought the history of the distillery to life, was approachable and shared tidbits for the novice and the knowledgeable. I’m not fangirling, maybe a little; but I enjoyed her storytelling of the Weller brand. She was unscripted and genuine, and you could tell she enjoyed her job and a pour!
The Stitzel Weller Store had bourbon and whiskey for sale, of course, and they had the usual branded items – t-shirts, water bottles, magnets, etc. It was ok; the items were definitely geared towards men.
The tasting was really good. I wasn’t sure how many Weller products I liked; but I found a few that I thought were quite tasty and will revisit.
With the benefit of hindsight: I can say that this tour was a favorite because of the history shared and our guide.
Our next stop was Four Roses…
