Double Bourbon Delight

I've been enjoying my homemade bourbon Kahlua quite alot. I won't say I drink it every day, because I do work for a living: however, on the weekends all bets are off.

The bourbon Kahlua has more body than store bought and better than when I made it with a clear spirit. I'm borderline obsessed with it. I’m still making large batches; but when I finish this round, I’m definitely going to tinker with the portion and ingredients to see what other flavors I can add to the mix - maybe almond Kahlua?

I've been raving about how good this Kahlua is to one and all. I gave some to a dear friend for his birthday and he is hooked too. So, when my mother stopped by late afternoon, she wanted to try some; but it was late afternoon and she didn’t want to stay up late with the coffee. I decided to riff on a Black Russian and came up with the Double Bourbon Delight: 1 oz of homemade bourbon Kahlua, 1 oz of bourbon, splash of cream or half and half. Truly ‘Bourbon with a MELANIN Twist’. Delish

The bourbon Kahlua is sweet, so if you don’t love too sweet drinks, use a big bourbon. I liked it with a 114 proof. My mother isn’t much of a drinker. If you don’t have a big bourbon, adjust the amount of bourbon upwards. A heavy hand isn’t bad. I encourage you to pour away. 😊 The cream makes this milky and almost dessert like. It was tasty!
