Black & Orange Manhattan

I’m out here in these mean streets, and by mean streets I’m talking Seattle for a work. 😉 After a long conference session, I needed some down time by myself - a good meal and a cocktail.

I chose the Black & Orange Manhattan. My preference is an Old Fashioned; but this was on the menu, and I went with it. This had bourbon, of course; Amaro, Punt E Mes (sweet Vermouth), chocolate and orange bitters. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it; but ooh la la. It was tasty. It was well balanced and perfectly chilled.

I’d give it a 4.5 out 5 because it had a strong orange flavor and I love orange everything.

I rarely make cocktails at home; but this one is tempting. If you’ve made a Manhattan with these ingredients, let me know. I don’t have the time or the patience to experiment; but I would surely follow a recipe.
