I received a sample size of @DrinkBittermilk No. 1 Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Fashioned. Now if you’ve been to this site and read other posts, you know I LOVE an Old Fashioned. I mean, LOVE them and I make a great one. So it was with trepidation that I tried Bittermilk’s mixer.

Would I waste a good pour on a bad mixer?

Thankfully, the answer is no. I felt like Mikey, I liked it (cheesy 70s reference for 200 Alex). If you’re new to Old Fashioned cocktails – and really, why would that be? Perhaps you’ve just reached the LEGAL drinking age. Or even a discerning pro, like me – No. 1 tastes good. The spice level is lower than say a ‘traditional’ Old Fashioned. The mixer soothes a high proof bourbon and has a great balance of sweetness.

I’m a fan. Try it.
